After the building is deemed safe, the demolition project can commence. A building that is unoccupied may contain furnishings and other loose items that can be salvaged. A property owner should perform an assessment of the interior and should make plans to remove any items that they wish to salvage. A demolition team will have a safety crew on board who will oversee the demolition project. Many types of machinery may be used to demolish an existing building. After the project is complete, cleanup efforts will begin.
